"Venetian" writing set in a box including 1 Venetian glass pen, 1 bottle of sepia ink and a sheet of parchment paper.
Beginning in the 11th century, Venice became (by virtue of the quality of it's production), the European center for the art of glassblowing. After several distastrous fires ravaged the city, an 18th century decree exiled the glassblowing masters to the island of Murano. Their subsequent activity became so well known as to assure Europe's prowess in this field. Today, Murano is world reknowned for quality and unique glass design.
