"Middle Age" writing set in a box including 1 goose feather in blue or bordeaux, 1 ink bottle and a sheet of parchment paper.
In the Middle Ages, kings wrote on parchment paper (made from tanned goatskin), or vellum (made from stillborn calfskin). Their writing instrument was either a goose or an eagle feather. Ink was based on mineral pigments mixed with rubber and water. Thanks to Charlemagne, we still use the writing the style common throughout Europe: Caroline.
